One Life at a Time

Poverty, injustice, and inequality are still rampant, and until we address these issues, none of us can truly rest. The good news is that changing a life doesn’t require much effort.

Together, we can make a real impact.

About Us

Our goal is to rebuild 'the DREAM' by providing long-term opportunities, jobs, relief, and uplifting morals again, when we create HOPE for a better future.

Rebuild Africa was birthed out of a group of families all born in South Africa and now living in the USA.

We moved to the USA because we saw a country we love dearly deteriorating over the last 30 years. South Africa is well known for its amazing wildlife safaris, good wines, beautiful coastlines, and of course Rugby. It used to attract millions of tourists every year, but due to crime and people’s fear of safety, the number has declined rapidly.

The last 30 years have seen an ever-increasing decay of mismanagement and unskillful leadership, resulting in increased crime, poverty, unemployment, load shedding, corruption, basic sanitation problems, running out of fresh water, deteriorating roads, language oppression, and struggling healthcare.

Together, we can rebuild the dream of a better future for Africa.

Our Vision

Our Vision is to Rebuild a Life One at a Time

Our vision are fuelled by a scripture about Jesus and His calling on earth. Mat 12:20 says “A battered and bruised life He will not break”. Everybody has experience some hardship somewhere in their lives, nobody gets through life without some sort of “battering and bruising”. The good news is that Jesus came to acted out this verse and to call us to doing the same.

A battered or bruised life can mean almost anything. Sickness, unemployment, fire, war, death, floods, own bad choices can take out your legs under you and all of a sudden you are looking for a second chance and some kindness in this world.

Our Dream is to be that kindness and second chance to one person at a time.

There is a ancient Japanese art of “Kintsugi” – the golden joinery or repair that uses lacquer dust mixed with gold, silver, or platinum to mend broken objects. This philosophy embraces brokenness and restoration, rather than disguising or hiding it.

In 2 Tim 2:20, we learn that God builds His house with gold, silver, wood, and clay, combining skilful labour and equipped workmanship. At Rebuild Africa, we aim to help rebuild a great country with the love of God and the resources provided by generous Americans and friends. We work closely with local churches to identify the needs of the community and provide resources to repair brokenness and lead broken communities to Christ and a better future. Let us mend and heal the broken with gold.

Our partnerships with local communities have spanned over 40 years and have been established through many trials and challenges. We recognize the growing social needs of the people and are committed to addressing them. Rebuild Africa is personal, relational, and all-inclusive. As a 3rd World Country, we know that we are dependent on outside resources to succeed in this big project, but our immediate relief and effect will touch “one life at a time” with the love of God.

Part of our resources will be used to communicate the gospel of Jesus Christ to the people. We believe that a better today and tomorrow is essential, but eternity is more important. Every person must hear the good news and experience the love of Jesus Christ when the church provides for some of their needs. We partner with churches that balance evangelism and social justice to bring lasting change.

The perfect gold to mend a broken heart is the love of Jesus Christ.
